Hey brides! I know one thing that you LOVE and value as well as one of my favorite things to photograph are those gorgeous bridal detail shots! You’ve spent months planning for your wedding day and have picked out the perfect shoes, jewelry, invitations, etc!
I want to share a few tips for getting the best possible details shots on your wedding day.
Here are three of my favorite ways to get those detail shots you’ve always dreamed of!
1. Request spare blooms from your florist
As you’re finalizing plans with your florist close to the date of your wedding, simply ask if they would be willing to include a few extra blooms and greenery along with your florals. Let them know that these blooms will be used to style with your bridal details to create gorgeous photographs. Make sure you let them know they will receive access to the photo gallery and can use the photos for their marketing purposes as well.
When you have spare blooms, the styling options for your detail shots are endless! You can add blooms to style your invitation suite and take stunning jewelry and shoe shots as well! Adding extra greenery and florals will help tell your color story and will make your photos look really high end!
2. Include heirlooms and personal items
If you have any special family items that could be used to style with your details like china, a silver tray, lace swatches or fabric, jewelry, etc. you can include that along with your details for me to shoot on your wedding day.
Incorporating these extra items adds dimension, texture, and visual interest to your photos. Your photos will be that much more special because they include sentimental family items and will be unique and one-of-a-kind since they include your personal heirlooms.
3. Include extra details that tie in your wedding colors
If you have any extra items that incorporate your wedding colors, include that along with your details for me to photograph the morning of your wedding day. It always helps to tell a strong color story when there are extra items tying in the primary colors you’d like to highlight. A couple examples are that you could order silk ribbon, a custom ring box, or vintage stamps. Those items look incredible styled with details and takes the photos to the next level!
Check out Frou Frou Chic for a stunning ribbon selection, the Mrs. Box for custom velvet ring boxes, and this site for vintage stamps.
A strong color story in your photos looks especially beautiful laid out in albums. Your photos will look so cohesive and high end when a strong color/detail story is present. If you’re a past or current bride and are interested in ordering an album, contact Stacey for details!
The options are endless when it comes to styling your wedding day details when you take those tips into consideration.
