Over the course of my life, I’ve always loved encouraging and mentoring girls whether that was as a captain of the tennis team and making the freshman girls feel welcome or being a youth leader for high school girls. It’s always been something that came naturally to me and something I loved doing!
I am so passionate about seeing the potential in others and encouraging them in how they can be using their gifts. This is why I’m so excited to now offer mentor sessions for aspiring photographers and business owners because it’s something that fires me up and gives me great joy!
I was so excited when Rachel reached out about doing a mentor session. I’ve known Rachel for a couple of years because I photographed her sister, Mandy’s wedding, and also Rachel’s senior photos. Rachel is a determined, go-getter who has big dreams for starting her own wedding photography business. She already has a clear vision of the brand she wants to offer and the clients she wants to attract. She wants to be a story-teller.
Before I even photographed my first wedding, I invested in a mentor session as well and it was the best decision I made for my business. A mentor session will kick-start your business because you’re learning from someone who has been in your shoes and can teach you best practices. When you begin a photography business not only do you need to learn how to operate a camera but also learn lighting, posing, how to create a blog and website, pricing, branding, etc. It can be overwhelming! That is why a tailored one-on-one mentor session is a fantastic way to get you started with a set action plan to move you forward toward your dream.
During my session with Rachel we reviewed camera settings, shooting technique, pricing, branding, marketing, editing, and more! Rachel’s photography skills grew instantly after learning a few new techniques! It was mind blowing looking at some before and after pictures she captured.
Rachel is now equipped to enhance her craft and start her business. It was such a joy to spend the afternoon together and take some head shots as well.
If you’re interested in starting a business, refining your craft, or taking your business to the next level, I would love to hear from you! Send me an email at stacey@stacey-lynn.com and I’d love to connect with you!
